Projections, art and popular culture

In the last lecture we had a look at some works of Tony Oursler, a multimedia artist who worked with projections on 3D objects, like projecting faces onto artificial heads.

A while ago, I saw a youtube video featuring a robot baby some Japanese students invented, that looked remarkably similar (and as creepy) as Tony Ourslers projections, so I wanted to post it here. It made me think of how certain concepts in the arts are adopted after a while into popular culture, may it be cinema (arthouse cinema and for example Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), paintings (Andy Warhol) or music:
