Colours in Black and White

I started experimenting with monochrome photographs and turning pictures into a composition of coloured dots by playing with the manual focus. I found it remarkable how the meaning of photographs changes if they are stripped of their natural colours, and especially what it does to the more than colourful illuminated ads in Surfers Paradise, when we see them just in black and white though we know that they are bright and coloured:
